FOOD & DRINK: Ben’s devotee Anthony Bourdain hosts the 2011 Capital Food Fight cooking battle between chefs Jeff Black (Pearl Dive Oyster Palace and Black Salt), Todd Gray (Equinox), Haidar Karoum (Proof and Estadio), and Brian McBride (Blue Duck Tavern) at the Ronald Reagan Building (1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW). 6 p.m. Tickets are $200 and proceeds support D.C. Central Kitchen.

MOVIE: Reel Fest DC, a five-day showcase of independent films, kicks off tonight with two feature length films, My America and Amateur Hour, and a number of shorts. 7-11 p.m. $20.

SHOPPING: Shop from 19 museum gift stores all in one place tonight through Sunday at the Strathmore’s (10701 Rockville Pike North, Bethesda) Museum Shop Around. Museums including the Kennedy Center, National Building Museum, The Phillips Collection and more will be selling jewelry, art prints, hand painted scarves, t-shirts and other gifts. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. tonight and tomorrow, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. $9.

MUSIC: Miami metal band Torche plays DC9 (1940 9th Street NW) with Part Chimp, Regents and Chumps. 8 p.m. $12 in advance, $14 day-of.
