We’re big fans of local historical photography here at DCist, so there really wasn’t any chance we’d pass on featuring the above May 1974 image of the packed to the gills Antonelli parking lot where the Ronald Reagan Building stands today. Kudos to The Atlantic for combing through the Archives for this and the photographic proof that, yes, people were taking photographs of planes taking off at Gravelly Point well before most of us.
