>> Violinist/guitarist Matvei Sigalov is one of the most singular voices on the local scene, and you’re missing something if you haven’t seen him perform. He’ll be at Bohemian Caverns on Thursday for 8 and 10 p.m. sets. $15.
>> Busy local saxophonist Bobby Muncy leads his Radiohead Jazz Project on Thursday at Twins Jazz. As you might guess, the group re-interprets the alt-rockers’ music for an improvisational setting. 8 and 10 p.m. sets. $10 + $10 food/drink minimum.
>> Organist Jackie Hairston got his big break playing with the great Otis Redding, and will be leading his own band on Friday at Jazz Night in Southwest. 6 to 9 p.m. $5.
>> Tierney Sutton is a gifted vocalist who has garnered three Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. She will be performing 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. sets at the Kennedy Center‘s KC Jazz Club on Friday. $26-$30 + fees.
>> Inspired by the Chicago sound, The Nighthawks have spent decades honing their skills as a blues lover’s band of choice. They will be at Blues Alley on Friday for 8 and 10 p.m. sets. $30 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.
>> Vocalist Gretchen Parlato and pianist Gerald Clayton are fast rising stars in the jazz world, blending a modern sensibility with a thorough understanding of past traditions. They will team up on Friday for what is sure to be a special concert at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. 8 p.m. Sponsored by the Library of Congress, tickets to the show are free, but must be reserved in advance.
>> Arlen & Berlin is a show that celebrates the music of Irving Berlin and blues pioneer Harold Arlen. Their repertoire includes many 20th century classics like “They Say That Falling in Love is Wonderful”, “Come Rain, Come Shine”, “Stormy Weather”, “White Christmas”and more. This cabaret tribute runs from Dec. 2 to Dec. 11 at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. $23 to $37.
>> Not yet 30, trumpeter Etienne Charles has played with some of the biggest names in jazz, and even opened the DC Jazz Festival a couple years ago. He will bring his group to Bohemian Caverns on Friday and Saturday for 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. sets. $15.
>> Saxophonist Salim Washington plays music reminiscent of the explorations that John Coltrane and Pharaoh Sanders conducted back in the ’60s. He will bring his Harlem Arts Ensemble, including monster trombonist Frank Lacy, to Twins Jazz on Friday and Saturday. 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. sets. $15 + $10 food/drink minimum.
>> Local afrobeat band Chopteeth brings together an infectious blend of modern jazz, Yoruba tribal music and James Brown-inspired rhythms. Catch them and opener Alma Tropicalia at U Street Music Hall on Saturday. 7 p.m. $15.
>> Smooth jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows plays 8 and 10 p.m. sets at Blues Alley on Saturday and Sunday. $25 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.
>> AUM Fidelity is a record label putting out cutting edge music, and some of its best artists will be in D.C. this weekend. On Saturday, the Red Door (443 Eye St. NW) hosts Brooklyn quartet Little Women, which draws from influences as diverse as Chicago’s free jazz scene to math rock. Richmond’s SCUO opens. 9 p.m. $10. BYOB. On Sunday, AUM Fidelity artist William Parker will lead an organ quartet at Bohemian Caverns. Stay tuned for a full preview. 7 and 9 p.m. sets. $20.

>> Up and coming saxophonist Dan Blake, based in New York, will be at Twins Jazz on Tuesday to perform work from his new album, The Aquarian Suite.. 8 and 10 p.m. sets. $10 + $10 minimum/surcharge.
>> Vocalist Nicole Henry established herself by interpreting jazz classics, but has since expanded her catalog to include pop and soul classics. The talented singer will be leading a band on Tuesday at Blues Alley. 8 and 10 p.m. sets. $25 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.
