Oh wait, that’s just the lighting of the National Christmas Tree, scheduled to begin this evening at 5 p.m. on the Ellipse.

Consequently, if you’re a driver, you should probably pack up and leave work now, because roads around the Ellipse are scheduled to close to traffic from 4:15 to 7 p.m.

President Obama and family will be there, and they’ll be joined by the likes of Kermit the Frog (yay!), Carson Daly (huh?) and rock band OneRepublic (well, OK).
