On top of the rain, it’s looking like an active day of Occupy D.C.-related protests will keep traffic tied up throughout parts of the District today.
The folks down at McPherson Square have planned a full day of events, including a 10:30 a.m. march to an undisclosed lobbying firm, an “occupation block party on K Street” at noon and a 5 p.m. march that will take them to the White House and on to the Supreme Court. The morning march is expected to run along K Street from 13th to 17th streets NW, reports NBC4.
The K Street block party could well be big. Not only are the McPherson campers participating, but they’ll be joined by Take Back the Capitol protesters who have set up their own temporary home on the National Mall and engaged in a number of sit-ins in congressional offices yesterday to demand that Congress move on President Obama’s jobs bill.
