The newest location of fancy sandwich shop Taylor Gourmet is set to open today at 11 a.m. on 14th Street NW, and though the growing chain’s Twitter account says Mayor Vince Gray will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting, his press people say a visit to the newest outpost the Philadelphia-inspired restaurant is not on today’s schedule.

Ever since opening the flagship hoagie shop on H Street NE in late 2008, Taylor Gourmet has rapidly expanded, opening new locations at the City Vista complex on K Street NW and in Bethesda. A Virginia location is forthcoming this year, as is a cheesesteak shop on H Street NE, according to the Washington Business Journal.

A year ago, the owners of the shop made a surprising announcement—they had stopped importing their rolls from Philadelphia, opting instead for a local provider.
