From roaming the halls of the White House to running from police in a Detroit airport — it’s been quite the fall from grace for Arco the dog.

Arco, a German Shepard formerly in the employ of the U.S. Capitol Police as a bomb-sniffer, apparently broke free Monday night when let out of his cage in the Detroit airport to use the bathroom. He was on his way from Tuscon to a new home in Michigan when he made a break for it.

In the time that he was free, reports NYC Aviation, he bit a police officer that tried to apprehend him. According to a local Fox affiliate in Detroit, though, Arco was caught earlier this afternoon.

According to a posting by his owner last year, Arco wasn’t for the bomb-sniffing lifestyle, and was eventually adopted by a family in Virginia. After killing a 17-year-old cat, though, he was deemed a “dangerous dog” and sent away from the commonwealth until a new family could be found for him.

It’s unclear what will happen to him now, though a handler that was accompanying Arco said that he isn’t aggressive.
