The last time Radiohead played locally, fans had to trek all the way out to Jiffy Lube Live and sit through torrential downpours during the band’s show. This time around, Radiohead is playing closer by—and inside.
The band announced today that it will be performing at the Verizon Center on June 3 along with Caribou. Tickets, which will cost $69.50, go on sale March 8, according to the band’s website.
Other than the ’08 debacle, the last local whiff of Radiohead came last year, when anxious fans descended on Brightwood hoping to get a copy of the band’s free newspaper. Sadly, they were told to go to the wrong place—Radiohead reps eventually distributed copies of The Universal Sigh by the National Mall.
