The Washington Monument suffered a few cracks after last August’s earthquake, but inspectors have been checking to see if the local landmark may be the victim of more serious damage.

Via WJLA, the AP reports that in recent days inspectors have been checking to see if the magnitude 5.8 earthquake caused the 555-foot-tall monument to tilt or sink. Don’t get too excited that we might have our own Leaning Tower of Pisa, though—any tilting or sinking would only measure in the fractions of an inch. Regardless, even a slight shift to the side or down could affect planned repairs.

The monument, which recently celebrated its 127th birthday, remains closed to the public. In January, a local philanthropist kicked in $7.5 million for necessary repairs in the wake of the earthquake.
