We’ve long known that fans of the Philadelphia Phillies are an obnoxious, slovenly, politically sleazy bunch. But they’re also the aggrieved 99 percent when they visit Nationals Park, so claims a new T-shirt being hawked the group often cited as the worst sports fans in America.

The Post’s Dan Steinberg reports that Philly Phaithful, a website that sells sports memorabilia perfect for the fan seeking to vomit on the 11-year-old girl sitting in front of him or her, offered in an email to its customers a new shirt that implores the “occupation” of Nationals Park.

The shirt, which features the Philly Phanatic’s green, furry fist raised high in protest, reads “OCCUPY NATIONALS PARK.” It could very well be the latest barrage in the spat between Nationals owner Ted Lerner and Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.), who accused the Nats last month of trying to prevent the Phillies’ fans from hogging all the seats when they’re in town.

But a member of Occupy D.C. says Phillies and Nats fans should put aside their on-field differences and focus on the real problems. “They might be occupying the park, but really Philly and D.C. fans are all the 99 percent,” Sara Shaw told DCist.

And how are Phillies fans who live in D.C. responding?

“Can’t fault people for wanting to make an easy buck, I guess,” one notable Phillies fan wrote in an email to DCist. “I’ll be sticking with my Phils cap, but, hey, that’s just me.”
