I swear I had this idea myself. Of course, I hate peeps and am not particularly crafty, so again I didn’t enter the Washington Post’s annual Peep Diorama Contest. But someone did, and they took a big 2011 story and turned it into a great, award-winning peep diorama—OccuPeep D.C.
Credit is certainly due for the attention to detail. Even the statue of Gen. James McPherson is a peep (Gen. McPeepson?), and yes, that’s the infamous Occubarn there too. I would have like to have seen a sign advocating on behalf of the 99 peepcent, and maybe a few more U.S. Park Police officers. Or are they Peep Police?
Other top entries in the Post’s contest included GOPeep Presidential Debate, Peepius Maximus, What People Think Peeps Are, and The Black Peep, which is a winner in our hearts—it’s a peep version of The Black Cat, fixie-riding peep and all.
You can see the rest of the awesome entries here.
