If you melted into a pool of sobbing squee after seeing the U.S. Secret Service recently help a family of ducks scamper through the White House fence, prepare yourself for what today brought: ducks crossing K Street! Jonathan Gitlin caught the adorable moment as it happened.

One thing is ducks crossing the street, but ducks crossing the street in the crosswalk? Even the Maryland drivers were squee’d into stopping. Now if it were a Canada goose, well, those feathered bastards would have pooped on the sidewalk and jaywaddled across the street. They’re the worst.

UPDATE, 2 p.m.: A commenter wisely points out that the traffic along K Street has the green light, so technically those ducks are jaywaddling. Still cute, though.
