Union Station has never been a great place to grab a cab, especially late at night. That might soon change.

The Post reports that the D.C. Taxicab Commission and Union Station officials have partnered to implement a plan that will hopefully bring some semblance of order to the late-night cab rush. Much like at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, cab dispatchers will be assigned to ensure that passengers dutifully line up for cabs; police officers will be on patrol to make sure that cab drivers are similarly following the rules.

Since last fall, D.C. taxicab inspectors have not had the budget to operate past midnight, leaving passengers at Union Station at the mercy of just about any cab driver that approaches—including those that are not properly licensed.
