Yesterday was a somewhat typical summer day for D.C.—hot and humid during the day, followed by drenching and dramatic thunderstorms at night.

What made yesterday’s storm—Thunderdoom 2012, anyone?—worth watching was how obviously it crept in over the city, a massive line of dark clouds contrasted against an otherwise sunny blue sky. It was one of those storm where the weather map and the sky look the same—a distinct line dividing what’s dry from what’s about to be drenched.

If you’ve got any pictures to share of yesterday’s stormy doom, send them to tips (at) dcist (dot) com or upload them to our Flickr pool.
