Traffic cameras. Closed-circuit cameras. Crime cameras. There’s a lot of cameras in D.C., and lots of people watching those cameras to make sure that you’re not doing anything you shouldn’t. The camera coverage in D.C. is so extensive, it seems, that it landed D.C. atop the Men’s Health list of the country’s most-watched cities.

It’s not much of a surprise, really. We’ve got license plate readers. (Plenty of ’em.) And speed cameras, with more on the way. And crime cameras in neighborhoods, though it’s unclear whether or not they’re good for anything. And that’s just the local watchers—pretty much every federal building and installation in town is similarly covered in cameras.

The rankings, based on traffic, red light, and police surveillance, put Houston in second place, followed by Denver, Cheyenne, Rochester, Dallas, Austin, New Orleans, Virginia Beach, and Atlanta. The five least-watched cities? Fort Wayne, Indiana; Lincoln, Nebraska; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Burlington, Vermont; and Billings, Montana.
