D.C. Pride weekend is upon us and it is time to celebrate! In honor of Pride, today’s song of the day is by the original HBIC, Ru-Paul. Anyone who watches Ru-Paul’s Drag Race may recognize “Glamazon,” as the track that the queens dance to at the end of the show. Speaking of Ru-Paul’s Drag Race, I should also mention this year’s winner ”America’s Next Drag Superstar,” Miss Sharon Needles will be gracing our fine city tomorrow at Town (Advance tickets are sold out, but limited tickets will be available at the door). The spooky goddess is also bringing along runner up Phi Phi O’Hara and Dida Ritz. Check out the video of “Glamazon” made by this season’s top 3 (Sharon and Phi-Phi are both featured), and make sure to hit up the D.C. Pride event calendar if you want to partake in the festivities.
BONUS!
Because I love Pride so much I have a bonus song from this year’s festival headliner, Deborah Cox. The club remix of “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here” is a gay club anthem, and you bet your ass she is going to break this classic out when she hits the stage Sunday at the Pride Festival.
