ART & JAZZ Head to the American Art Museum’s (9th and F Streets NW) Kogod Courtyard tonight for the Take 5! free jazz and art experience. Tonight’s performance features drummer Harold Summey, winner of the 1992 Thelonious Monk Competition, a member of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” and a professor of jazz studies at Howard University. 5:00-8:00 p.m. Free.

MUSIC: Head to Fort Reno (Nebraska Avenue and Chesapeake Street NW) this evening to see outdoor sets by Edie Sedgwick, Art Sorority for Girls, and Brenda. 7:00-9:30 p.m. Free.

OUTDOOR MOVIE: When you’re young summer seems like the best time for adventure, and Goonies is the quintessential summer adventure movie. See it tonight as part of the Capitol Riverfront’s (100 Tingey Street SE) Treasure Hunting themed outdoor movie series. The movie starts at 8:45 p.m., but come at 6:30 p.m. for a scavenger hunt/race sponsored by Pacers. Free.

SCAVENGER HUNT: As we mentioned in yesterday’s About Tonight, track down clues as you race through Georgetown tonight as part of the “The Georgetown Dash,” a scavenger hunt that begins at City Sports Georgetown (3338 M Street NW), ends an hour later at Mr. Smith’s, and benefits Girls on the Run. 6:00-9:00 p.m. $25 individuals, $100 teams of 4.
