Since he was drafted by the “Washington” Redskins, Robert Griffin III has been the subject of plenty of stories testifying to his reputation of being an all-around good guy. He was affable and charming on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, received the plaudits of his more-seasoned teammates and told reporters he doesn‘t care about other players’ sexuality.

He’s a nice kid, this RGIII. Which is why this item that D.C. Sportsbog stumbled upon is a little upsetting:

Jack Burditt, an executive producer of 30 Rock, was a recent guest on Rich Eisen’s podcast and recounted some of the celebrity guests who visited NBC Studios in New York while the sitcom was performing a live episode back in April. NBC, located at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, is right across the Avenue of the Americas from Radio City Music Hall, where the first night of the NFL Draft was in progress.

After going through the necessary media routines after the Redskins drafted him with the No. 2 pick, Griffin made his way over to NBC to drop in on the 30 Rock broadcast. Also in the studio was none other than Kim Kardashian, who had a guest spot on the episode. Here’s what happened next, according to Burditt:

“She sat next to me while we were watching the show on the monitor and RGIII is a few seats down, and during the commercial break she starts asking me questions about him,” Burditt said on the podcast. “Like, ‘Now he’s a football player, right?’ I’m like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And [Kardashian asks] ‘And he just…something big happened, right?’ And I’m like, well yeah, he just was the No. 2 overall pick tonight. [Kardashian asks] ‘And what team?’ Washington. [Kardashian asks] ‘What’s Washington?’ Redskins. She goes, ‘I don’t know much about football, but, so what’s his deal?’ And I’m thinking, you stay away from him. This is a nice young man.”

First of all, it’s a little surprising that Kardashian was unable to place the Redskins on a map. It’s not like she’s totally uninformed about the NFL. But, seriously, the last thing the Redskins need is Kim Kardashian in their orbit. Besides, isn’t she dating Yeezy?

And to say nothing of the fact that Griffin is engaged. He and his fiancee, Rebecca Liddicoat, just bought a Bentley.
