Police in Prince George’s County today announced that a 12-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday night in connection with the beating death of his two-year-old foster sister. The girl was found severely beaten Tuesday night in a Fort Washington home, police said, and authorities were called after the siblings’ father attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The investigation into the toddler’s death showed signs that she had been beaten severely, and her death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy, police said.

The boy was arrested last night and charged as a juvenile. He was remanded to the Cheltenham Youth Facility. As he his not being charged as an adult, his name is not being released.
