D.C.-area’s temperatures on Saturday hit the 106-degree mark, but they didn’t linger for at least three minutes, the required limit, to be considered one of the hottest days recorded in area history.
Instead, yesterday’s high of 105 will go down as as one of the second hottest days.
Despite a second-place finish, the whole day was still dangerously hot and continued to break a few more records, according to The Post:
…the nation’s capital notched at least three heat-related marks Saturday: It was the hottest day of the year and easily topped the previous high for July 7: 102 degrees. Saturday was also a record 10th-straight day with a high temperature above 95 degrees.
