An online petition demanding Pepco to improve its services in response to the company’s slow efforts in restoring power to thousands of customers affected by last week’s derecho is receiving plenty of support.
Calling Pepco one of the “most unreliable” utility organizations in the country, creator Kevin Grandia of Washington, D.C. wants the company to bury the power lines and make the area’s power system safe and reliable:
For almost $3 million a year, Joe Rigby needs to be held to account. We demand, on behalf of all the seniors, poverty-stricken and children, that Pepco immediately begin investing their profits in improving our power and implement a long term solution to these unacceptable delays.
Grandia’s petition currently has 2,216 signatures out of the required 2,500.
