When one of the greatest female players in tennis history is bounced from Wimbledon in the first round by a relatively unknown opponent, it’s tough to think of a fitting consolation prize.

How about attending the opening of a Jamba Juice in D.C.? That’s where seven-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams will be tomorrow, when she attends the opening of D.C.’s first freestanding Jamba Juice store in Dupont Circle.

(OK, OK. Watching younger sister Serena win her fifth Wimbledon singles title then joining her to conquer the doubles tournament is pretty sweet, as Williams did on Saturday, is pretty sweet, too.)

The colorful smoothie chain opens tonight at 6 p.m. at 1333 19th Street NW, in the location formerly occupied by Ben & Jerry’s. Williams, a Jamba Juice endorsee, will attend a grand-opening event tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m.
