Even though a judge in Warren County, Va. struck down Tareq Salahi’s lawsuit against Journey guitarist Neal Schon yesterday, the one-time White House gatecrasher isn’t giving up in his pursuit of financial relief in exchange for Schon absconding with his estranged wife, Michaele.
Washingtonian’s Carol Ross Joynt writes today that Tareq Salahi will next bring his case before the Virginia Supreme Court, subjecting the highest court in the commonwealth to his tale of being cuckolded by an arena rocker. Salahi filed his $50 million lawsuit against Schon and Journey after Michaele ditched him for the Schon last year. And in a bizarre statement to Washingtonian, Salahi is showing no sign of defeat, despite the fact that Warren County was the second jurisdiction to dismiss his case:
“I am thankful this case will have the opportunity to be reviewed by the Virginia Supreme Court. We look forward to the chance for our case to be heard by a jury of my peers from within the local community where I grew up and in which Michaele and I lived as husband and wife. It was outrageous that Journey knew that I would be extremely emotionally distraught when my wife and business partner became missing after Neal Schon lured her into his entertainment business. Today’s decision to proceed to the Virginia Supreme Court is another step toward justice as a result of Neal Schon’s and Journey’s selfish and outrageous behavior and for their inexcusable acts, which caused me extreme emotional distress.”
The AV Club went a bit grittier in describing the kind of evidence that Virginia’s top jurists will have to consider when Salahi comes before them, including, potentially, photos of Schon’s penis. In a statement, Salahi’s attorney, Chuck Roberts, said he plans to introduce exhibits that will lay out Schon’s “outrageous and lewd acts” against his client.
Among those exhibits, the AV Club reported, is a phone call from Schon to Salahi in which the rocker said, “I’m fucking your wife,” and followed up with a photo of his genitals.
In the mean time, Tareq Salahi was still running for governor of Virginia last time we checked. As for Schon and Michael Salahi, they appeared briefly in Silver Spring last month for the opening night of Silverdocs, where a documentary about Journey was screened. But they left before the movie ended.
