Today, President Barack Obama turns 51 years old. To celebrate, he took a break from the campaign hustle. He left the White House this morning to spend a quiet weekend at Camp David.
Obama will return tomorrow afternoon to prepare for a packed week, which will include a signing ceremony on Monday for the Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act at the Oval Office. He will also be campaigning in Colorado, a battleground state in the 2012 presidential contest. Mitt Romney, the presumptive GOP nominee, is currently campaigning this weekend in the Centennial State.
But not everything was on hold for the Obama camp during this competitive election season. An e-mail from the first lady arrived this morning to remind supporters to not only sign Obama’s birthday card, but also help finance his re-election campaign.
