It’s the birth certificate of President Obama’s pro-gun credentials. Or something like that.

The White House today published a picture of President Obama shooting clay targets at Camp David last August, part of an attempt to quiet the chorus of skeptics who doubted Obama’s recent claim in an interview with The New Republic that he occasionally shoots for sport.

Of course, anything short of live footage of Obama cleaning the muzzle of an AR-15 while reading Guns & Ammo in the Oval Office won’t satisfy his most ardent critics, who took to Twitter today to cast doubt on the claim that Obama was actually shooting for sport and does so with any frequency.

Earlier this week, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) challenged Obama to a skeet shooting contest.
