>> Get ready to resume your Forrest-and-Jenny recreations. The $34 million remodeling of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is nearly done, the Post reports. Later this month, a switch will be thrown and water will spew out of 58 spigots filling the long pool for the first time in 20 months. The pool has been almost entirely rebuilt, and will now draw its water from the Tidal Basin instead of D.C. pipes.
>> Local Sikh leaders are reacting to last weekend’s shooting massacre at a Sikh temple in Oak Brook, Wis. that left seven dead. Jasjit Singh, the executive director of the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund, tells WAMU he got on a plane to Wisconsin as soon as he heard about the shooting. “Once this news broke, it was just clear that we needed to be here on the ground, because nothing like this has ever hit our community,” he says.
