D.C. police arrested three men yesterday they say are connected to the beating of a man in Eastern Market in August and a number of robberies in the neighborhood, reports WTOP:

Those arrested are 21-year-old Tommy Tyrone Branch of Fort Washington, Md., 18- year-old Michael Moore of Landover, Md., and a juvenile male.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier announced the arrests at an 8:30 p.m. news conference.

The suspects had been in pretrial release before the arrest. Coincidentally, they’d been arrested previously for beating up three young men and holding them up at gunpoint just hours after the attack on Maslin.

On August 18, Thomas Maslin was beaten while walking home from a Nats game. In late August police released video footage of a car they said may have been driven by suspects in that crime and other robberies on Capitol Hill. Maslin has undergone two brain surgeries since the attack, but is reportedly improving. He is married and has a 21-month-old son.

The three will be arraigned today.
