D.C. Woman Arrested In Animal Cruelty Case
Vets didn’t expect the dog to last through the night, but she has made a full recovery.
The family and friends of Thomas C. Maslin, a D.C. man who was savagely beaten in August are holding a fundraiser on his behalf tonight to help cover the cost of his extensive medical bills.
Three men were arrested yesterday in connection to a beating in Eastern Market that has left a man in the hospital fighting for his life.
D.C. police have released a video of a silver car they say is linked to the brutal beating of a 29-year-old in Eastern Market earlier this month.
A man was found severely beaten on a front porch of a house near Eastern Market.
An update now to a story that we mentioned in this morning’s Roundup: a third D.C. police officer has now been implicated in the beating of a man outside the Lotus nightclub at 1420 K Street NW on June 10.
Occasionally, we’re presented with stories that make us really wonder about our collective humanity. This is certainly one of those stories.

Hannah Sentenced to Six Months in Beating Death
The tortured case of the beating death of gay Maryland man Tony Hunter has at last drawn to a close, as D.C. Superior Court Judge Rafael Diaz sentenced defendant Robert Hannah, 19, to 180 days in jail on Wednesday, the Washington Blade reports. The sentence represents the maximum jail time allowable for Hannah’s conviction on a misdemeanor assault charge. Elderly Man Dies After Random Attack
Well this is absolutely horrible. A 76-year old Southeast D.C. man died earlier this week after being attacked and beaten by two young men, WJLA is reporting. Clarence Dews was walking along Martin Luther King Avenue when two guys ran him down with a bicycle before slamming him over the head with a club. He died a few days later from blunt force trauma.
