Mica Levi knows her way around a tune. Better known under her Pokémon-like stage name Micachu, the U.K.-based singer-songwriter has experimented with pop music that has challenged listeners. Her long-sophomore album, Never, released in July, is a woozy blend of experimental music that breezes by in a seasick wale of toy guitars, gurgling synths and Micachu’s androgynous vocals. Micachu and the Shapes are finally making their local debut tomorrow night as the opening act for Animal Collective at Merriweather Post Pavilion, so today’s song of the day is the slow-jam highlight “Nothing.” The track is the closest the band gets to making a pop hit, and it is by far the album’s most satisfying track.
