The Walkmen have become one of indie rock’s most consistent bands. This year they released another sleeper hit in their sixth record Heaven, proving that they do not just have one amazing song anymore (although “The Rat” is still pretty amazing). Unlike that Bows & Arrows highlight, the band is no longer screaming to anyone who will hear, instead gracefully getting older and making something that is distinctively not Dad rock.

Today’s song of the day is a mid-tempo rocker “Heartbreaker.” The track is a about as fast as the Walkmen play nowadays but its laid back groove will settle into your brain and stay for awhile.
