AIDS Walk Washington is a 5K fundraising walk and timed run benefiting and produced by Whitman-Walker Health on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Freedom Plaza, beginning at 8:15 am. For the last 26 years, AIDS Walk has raised millions of dollars to help keep people with HIV alive and healthy. The community’s generous donations through AIDS Walk help Whitman-Walker provide primary HIV medical care, dental care, mental health services and legal help to HIV patients.

In the District of Columbia, nearly three percent of all adults are infected. Many of them don’t know they’re infected. Only 30 percent of all people living with HIV in DC are in consistent health care. Whitman-Walker Health provides HIV patients with the care they need to stay healthy and to keep our community healthy in turn.
