An off-duty officer in the Prince George’s County Police died yesterday in a traffic accident when his marked cruiser crashed into another vehicle traveling through Clinton, Md. Officer Kevin Bowden, 28, died from the injuries he sustained when the collision sent his vehicle into a utility pole.
The collision happened at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Surratts Road about 3 p.m. yesterday, police said. The driver of the other vehicle, a sport utility vehicle, was taken to Prince George’s County with non-life-threatening injuries.
Bowden, a six-year veteran of the PGPD, was pronounced dead at Southern Maryland Hospital center. His death comes just two months after another Prince George’s officer, Adrian Morris, was killed when his cruiser crashed on Interstate 95.
