No surprise here—early voting in D.C. has been called off for Monday, October 29, according to the D.C. Board of Elections:

The District of Columbia Board of Elections has suspended the operation of its early voting sites for Monday October 29, 2012 due to the forecast arrival of Hurricane Sandy. The Board will make further announcements of early voting sites’ status throughout the day on Monday as it continues to communicate with Homeland Security and other agencies.

“In order to protect voters and election workers, we believe that it is prudent to suspend early voting on Monday,” said Clifford D. Tatum, the Board’s Executive Director. “We want to remind voters that once we resume voting, they may cast ballots at any one of the eight early voting centers through Saturday November 3.”

Early voting started across the city yesterday, and was set to run through this upcoming Saturday.
