The 55 ballot drop boxes will be open until polls close on Election Day.

The state BOE took legal action to address mail-in ballot-counting after it took more than a month to certify a winner of the Montgomery County Executive Democratic primary.

A new law, which applies only to the November election, sets up what’s known as a ballot “cure” process and requires that election officials reach out to voters whose ballots have been flagged because of errors.

D.C. and Maryland will open early, in-person voting centers during the week, while early voters in Virginia still contend with long lines.

More than 1.6 million Marylanders have requested mail ballots so far.

In Virginia, early voters show up in the hundreds and even thousands day after day amid concerns about the pandemic and postal service.

The Entertainment and Sports Arena will open on Oct. 27 for early voting.

Atlanta and Detroit have already offered up their basketball arenas for use as massive polling places, and D.C. is now following suit.

More than 870,000 people voted in Maryland, more than doubling the amount in 2012. D.C. has also broken its record with a day still left to go.

The longest wait time over the past couple hours has been an hour and fifteen minutes.
