And they’re off!

And they’re off!

After a day of contradictory messages over the fate of tomorrow 17th Street High Heel Race, the organizers of the annual tradition have decided to that maybe Hurricane Sandy is enough of a storm to merit postponing the race until Thursday:

Thanks to the Mayors office, the DC Police Department, Peter Rosenstein the race has been postponed to Thursday November 1st. from 7 to 9. Thank you everyone for being patient. The only thing that can go wrong is if the hurricane hits hard enough to ruin the impact of the area where the race will be held.

The decision was finalized in the last hour: up until 7 p.m., Mayor Vince Gray’s official schedule for tomorrow had him stopping by the race if conditions permitted.
