Members of Congress always talk about protecting the sanctity of marriage, but their message doesn’t seem to be getting to all that many people in D.C. According to a new study by online adultery site Ashley Madison, D.C. has the second-highest number of mistresses in the country.

The site reports that 33.8 percent of D.C. residents that use the service (link might be NSFW) are women looking for married men, second only to Los Angeles (37.2 percent) and ahead of Phoenix (31.7 percent) and Tampa (29.9 percent). Within D.C., the neighborhoods with the most such searches are Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Georgetown, and Woodley Park.

This probably shouldn’t come as a surprise—in February the site reported that D.C. had more registered users per capita than any other city in the U.S., with some 38,000 subscribers in our fair little city. Additionally, the site reported, 30 new members in D.C. join each day.
