As much as music tries to look forward, a lot of bands are looking back and doing tours during which they play their seminal albums in their entirety. In the past few months Sloan brought Twice Removed to the Black Cat, and the Old 97s brought Too Far to Care to the 9:30 Club. This Sunday another band is bringing their seminal album to the 9:30 Club for a victory lap—Taking Back Sunday is playing Tell All Your Friends, still the band’s best and most loved record, and even better after the original members have reunited after years of replacements and inter-band turmoil. While emo might not be everyone’s bag, you can’t say TBS isn’t catchy as fuck. Today’s song of the day is the best song from that record, “Cute Without the “E” (Cut From The Team).” Put this on and relive 2002.
Taking Back Sunday plays with Bayside and Transit Sunday November 11th at the 9:30 Club. Tickets are sold out.
