It’s the holiday season, so that means you’re on the search—possibly at the last minute—for gifts for friends and family. Over the course of the next few weeks, we’re going to dig up the D.C.-made and D.C.-themed gifts that we’d love to get—and would be sure to give. If anything catches your eye that you think would be worth including, feel free to send it along.

What time is it? Time to buy a clock, D.C. In fact, time to buy a D.C. clock, in cherry bamboo with little carved figures of the Capitol building, the Washington Monument, and the White House.

This modern Washington, D.C. clock from iluxo on Etsy is great for timing D.C. Council sessions, the seconds til the end of the work day, and how long your planning meeting for your work holiday party takes.

If this is a holiday gift for a former D.C. dweller, they can set it to their “local time, or mount it next to another wall clock with the time in D.C.,” iluxo suggests. Check out iluxo’s other city clocks, and judge for yourself whether time is told better in New York.

There’s still plenty of time to order this item before Christmas. Regular shipping is available til December 18th and priority shipping goes til December 20th.

Check out the rest of our Capital Gifts series, which so far has included D.C. map pillows, D.C. soap, a D.C. shaped cutting board, drinking glasses etched with a D.C. map, and D.C. map earrings.
