TUESDAY: The Museum of the American Cocktail is holding its 5th Annual Holiday Cocktail Seminar at The Passenger (1021 7th Street NW) this Tuesday. Local bartenders Philip Greene, Victoria Vergason, Chantal Tseng, Todd Thrasher, Adam Bernbach, Bryan Tetorakis and Arris Noble will share their knowledge and cocktail concoctions. Appetizers will be served and recipes of the cocktails you learn to create will be given out for you to take home. 6:30-8:30 p.m. $45 in advance, $50 at the door.
WEDNESDAY: Baby, It’s Cold Outside is a holiday benefit at Vera Cruz Gallery (2108 Vermont Avenue NW) this Wednesday for local nonprofit 826DC, which is “dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills.” There will be a select open bar. 8:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. $60 in advance, $75 at the door.
THURSDAY: Reggae sensation Matisyahu, whose super catchy song “One Day” was used to promote the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, performs at the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) this Thursday with the Danny Zamir Band. 7:00 p.m. $40.
FRIDAY: Shopping for an NPR listener this holiday season? You’re in luck. NPR is opening their headquarter’s doors in D.C. (635 Massachusetts Avenue NW) for a Sale-a-bration this Friday (5:00-8:00 p.m.) and Saturday (10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.). Along with selling NPR t-shirts, hats, CDs, books, radios, and other stuff at up to 70% off, a ton of NPR personalities will be in attendance throughout each day.
