On Sunday Customs and Border Patrol officers at Dulles Airport found more than two pounds of cocaine hidden inside the double walls of jars containing Guatemalan stew. The jars were carried by a Guatemalan man coming in on a flight from El Salvador; he was detained at the scene.
According to airport officials, more than 50 pounds of cocaine and 50 pounds of heroin were seized at Dulles between October 2011 and September 2012. And as we’ve amply documented here, drugs have been smuggled in in a variety of ways, including in jars of cream and honey, chocolate bars and juice boxes, a record amount of heroin pellets that were swallowed, clams, bedposts, and powdered soup packets.
