Beyond Baltimore barely winning an electric Super Bowl, the big story of last night may have been the actual lack of electricity in the Superdome. At the start of the second half, a portion of the dome’s lights went out, leaving teams and fans partially in the dark for 34 minutes as technicians scrambled to get the problem resolved.
While officials subsequently blamed the problem on a technical failure in a piece of equipment that measures electrical loads, Councilmember Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) pointed a finger elsewhere: Beyoncé’s half-time performance.
Okay, did Beyonce leave and take the power with her?

Barry, who tweeted up a storm during the big game, also left little room for debate as to consequences for the power outage: “Somebody’s getting fired. That’s all.”
