D.C.’s East Ghost released their debut EP, St. Elizabeths, in January 2012 and have been playing almost every gig they can since then. Tonight the band returns to DC9 with their friends Flagship, bringing with them their carefully constructed indie rock in the vein of Coldplay or indie acts like the National. Today’s song of the day, “Clouds and Their Shape,” has a strong Death Cab For Cutie “Transatlantacism” vibe, both in the song’s six-minute length and also towards the end, when singer Ryan Brogan’s voice reaches to the sky as his band creates a crashing climax.
East Ghost plays tonight with Flagship at DC9. Tickets are $8.
