On July 29, Beyoncé brings her Mrs. Carter World Tour to the Verizon Center. Tickets are going on sale at 10 a.m. today—so, in just a few minutes—but as WTOP writes, even fans with the fastest clicking fingers could have trouble scoring entry to the show:
“Fans should expect this show to sell out anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes,” says Chris Grimm, a spokesperson for Fan Freedom.
That organization is using this event as an example of why it believes fans are often kept out of the loop.
“When tickets go on sale for the general public, there’s maybe 10 percent, 15 percent of the total tickets actually available,” Grimm says.
The reason behind that is most tickets have already been allocated to such things as fan clubs, premium credit card members or promoters. Live Nation has an application offering pre-sale tickets to Beyoncé’s show.
There have been three pre-sales so far: one for users of Live Nation’s mobile app, a separate Live Nation pre-sale, and one for MasterCard customers.
If you didn’t get enough of Beyoncé’s after her inaugural and Super Bowl performances, try your luck with Ticketmaster. (Price range? $48 to $253.) If that doesn’t pan out, fear not—it’s your destiny, and Craigslist already has some tickets available. They’re not cheap, though.
