Metro has a whole bunch of track work scheduled for this weekend that will affect the Red, Yellow, Blue, and Orange Lines and result in the closure of several stretches of track, including the one servicing Reagan Washington National Airport.

Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, the following segments will close for the weekend:

  • Red Line between NoMa-Gallaudet and Takoma
  • Yellow Line between Crystal City and Braddock Road
  • Blue Line between Crystal City and Braddock Road
  • Orange Line between East Falls Church and West Falls Church, and between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly

Metro will be running shuttle buses between the out-of-service stations all weekend, with customers being advised to add between 15 and 40 minutes to their travel times. For Yellow and Blue line passengers, Metro is offering express and local shuttles. The express buses will not stop between Crystal City and Braddock Road, so travelers who would ordinarily take the Metro to the airport should use the local shuttle. In both instances, Metro says to expect an additional 15 minutes of travel time.
