The Metropolitan Police Department is revising upward its count of victims wounded in a drive-by shooting early Monday morning. Thirteen people were wounded when a hail of gunfire erupted from a pair vehicles passing by the 1200 block of North Capitol Street NW about 2:07 a.m.

Twelve of the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but the thirteenth is in critical condition at a local hospital, says Officer Paul Metcalf, an MPD spokesman. Police have still not provided a description of the suspected shooters, and are still looking for the vehicles, one of which was described earlier today as a dark blue BMW, but may actually be of a different make upon investigators’ review of a video of the shooting. The other car has been described only as a silver-colored sedan.

The shooting happened about a block away from Fur Nightclub, which closed shortly before the shooting occurred. People leaving the the club have described witnessing the incident, however both MPD and Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration officials have said that there is no known connection between the shooting and the venue.
