For the second time in six months, Metro failed to account for the Daylight Saving Time that took effect in Sunday, leaving some riders to pay peak fare yesterday when they shouldn’t have.

NBC4’s Adam Tuss was first to tweet out the news yesterday afternoon, reporting that Metro riders that boarded the system between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. were charged peak fares, even though the peak schedule ends at 9:30 a.m.

The exact opposite happened in November, when Metro failed to adjust its clocks and consequently closed down an hour earlier than it should have—and on a Sunday morning, no less.

Metro officials have said that any riders charged the higher fares yesterday will receive a refund. No word on whether Metro will buy one of these, though.
