It took until the sixth day of spring for D.C. to experience any noticeable snowfall, and even today’s sprinkling wasn’t that impressive. But it piled up in the right places at the National Zoo, where Mei Xiang, the resident female giant panda, tossed around in the wet, heavy powder.

The zoo’s pandas might not be very good at fulfilling their purpose—i.e., making more pandas—but, hey, they take nice photos in the snow, so that’s something.
