An off-duty sheriff’s deputy in Norfolk, Va. got in trouble yesterday after a shopping trip in which he forgot to collect all his personal belongings before leaving the fitting room. The deputy, the Associated Press reports, was at a Macy’s department store, trying on some new clothes, but when he got home, he realized he left something behind.
The Norfolk Sheriff’s Office told the AP that the deputy called the store as soon as he got home and realized he didn’t have his gun on him. The officer faces internal disciplinary measures, but no criminal charges.
Whatever the deputy faces, it won’t be nearly as bad as the unshakable reputation as the cop who left his gun in a Macy’s dressing room.
