BIKES: DC Bike Party is going on a “Cherry Blossom Chase” this Wednesday, a 10-mile bike ride from Dupont Circle, past some landmarks, and ending at The Biergarten Haus on H Street for a rooftop party with happy hour deals. Dress up in your best “tourist wear,” meet up at 7:30 p.m., and hit the streets at 8:00 p.m. Free.

WRITERS’ HAPPY HOUR: Take part in Creative Writing with the Stars at the Corcoran (500 Seventeenth Street NW) tonight, as part of the gallery’s Create at the Corcoran Happy Hour series. Author Mark Swartz will lead attendees in a creative writing workshop where each participant will “compose poetry or flash fiction about a star—or in the voice of living or dead celebrities as they would react to the art on view in the galleries.” 6:30-8:30 p.m. Pre-registration required: $15 (includes admission, wine, light snacks, pencil and paper).

PARTY: City Paper is throwing their Best of D.C. Party at Carnegie Library (801 K Street NW) tonight. At the event the paper “will reveal the winners in over 300 categories while you enjoy tastings from D.C.’s best restaurants, local breweries, and culinary artisans.” 7:00 p.m. Tickets: $75 general admission, $115 VIP.

POETRY: Busboys and Poets (1025 5th Street NW) welcomes in a variety of voices for Open Mic Poetry tonight hosted by poet/emcee George Yamazawa Jr. 9:00-11:00 p.m. $5.
