Hugo Manuel, better known as the pop producer Chad Valley, makes a mix of 80s and 90s pop with lush electronic backdrops that while referencing pop’s past sound remains current and fresh at every turn. Chad Valley’s debut record, Young Hunger, was released last year and boasted some big name collaborations including Glasser, El Perro Del Mar and, Twin Shadow. Chad Valley is coming to Rock and Roll Hotel, and today’s song of the day, “I Owe You This,” is a representation of his songwriting skills. The track is a duet between Hugo with his weightless falsetto and Twin Shadow’s George Lewis Jr.’s more grounded vocals. The song is instantly catchy and it’s sparkly arrangement will get stuck in your head.
